Biographies


Director:

Morgan Wicker is a homeschooling mother of four with a background in piano and cello performance. She has played with the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving and the University of Texas Orchestra. She has directed choirs in Portugal and the Czech Republic. She serves as Stake Music Chair of the Carrollton Texas Stake.

Orchestral Director:

John E. Hairel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Utah State University, a Master’s degree in Music Conducting from Texas Tech University and a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of Kentucky.  His experiences include teaching public school at both the middle school and high school levels as well as teaching numerous classes as a teaching assistant while attending Texas Tech University and the University of Kentucky.  John currently resides in Carrollton, TX with his wife Wendy and their four children.  He enjoys attending his children’s fine arts and sporting events.

Vocal Coach:

Linda Traue has studied voice education at 5 universities. She has learned 13 methods of pedagogy. Linda has been teaching voice for 44 years now in Oklahoma, Michigan, and Texas. She currently has former students in opera, musical theater, church musicians, music educators and jazz singers performing all over the world. She has taught voice and choirs in 17 various denominations of churches. She is so happy to be a Latter-day Saint, and has an immense love of The Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Vocal Soloists:

Andrea Taylor has worked as a voice and piano teacher for the past 6 years. She earned a Bachelor’s of Music from Brigham Young University, where she studied voice and served as a section leader in the Women’s Chorus. Previous to that, she twice had the privilege of singing with the Texas All-State Choir. She is a mother to three small children who keep her very busy.

Amy Knowlton earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in music from Brigham Young University. During her college career, she sang with the Collegiate Singers at Ricks College and the Women’s Chorus at BYU. She has directed church choirs and currently serves as a Sunday School teacher. She is a homeschooling mother with 4 children.

Ava Stewart is 12 years old and is a home schooled 6th grader. She has enjoyed singing since the age of 2. She is a member of the Dallas 6th Ward youth choir, under the direction of Linda Traue. She studies privately with Lauren Fisher.

Elisha Fernandez is a 12 year-old home schooled 6th grader who loves to sing and paint. She is a member of the Dallas 6th Ward youth choir, under the loving direction of Linda Traue. She is an author and a blogger. Her book “I Love Me!” co-authored by her sister Elyssa, was published last year.

Kaylee Hairel is a junior at Hebron High School, where she is under the direction of Rachel Forester and Nathan Ratliff. She sings soprano 1 in her school acappella choir, and this was her second year singing in the Texas All-State Mixed Choir. She studies voice privately with Robin Montgomery.

Sydney Hairel is a freshman at Hebron High School where she sings in the women’s choir, Belle Chanson. She has sung with Honors and All-Region choirs since fifth grade, was a member of the all-region treble choir this year and has competed as both a soloist and an ensemble member. She studies privately with Robin Montgomery.
